Elk Season- Pack Camp In

On Saturday Todd and I packed in our elk camp with style. Last year it took Todd and I many backpacking trips to get all of our camp in. This year we had the privilege of hiking in with two mules.  They were more than willing to carry our whole camp in and carry us out, in the same day.

Packed and ready for the trail

Awesome not even a backpack on my back, I could get used to that!

This past week Todd and I went out to Sterling, Colorado to check on our sunflower trial. The sunflowers were just opening. It was so beautiful!

The Colorado peaches are finally in season! Maxine taught me how to make freezer jam. We made three batches and boy does it taste wonderful!

Hail Damage to Trails

On Saturday Aug 3, 2013 a large storm went through Northern Colorado. In less than 15 minutes it rained 1.5 inches and hailed like crazy.  It caused a lot of damage to crops and property around the area.  Unfortunately, it hit some of the trials as well.
